She gazes into the mirror
searching for truth
but finds only faults
her perspective misconstrued
tainted by the media's lies
bombarded by toothpick thin girls in magazines
touched up meticulously
distorted well beyond the point of recognition
transforming unrealistic models
into impossibly flawless mannequins
in which young girls all over
aspire to imitate
She doesn't see the beautiful human staring back at her in the mirror

Food Network: Rachel Ray Strips Down !

Rachel Speaks:
In an interview with ABC’s Nightline, Rachael Ray discusses her sexy photos.

“I think I was 35 at the time,” she tells ABC’s Nightline in an interview airing Monday. “And I thought about it for a while, and I said, ‘You know what? This magazine has as young as 17-, 18-year-olds in hottie bikinis, and these are all actresses, models, pin-up girls. I don’t belong to any even remote club of theirs.’”

“And I thought, ‘If I’m gutsy enough to do this, this is a good thing for everybody. This is the everywoman, here she is,’” she adds. “And I did it, and it was the most scared I’ve ever been, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I’d do it again tomorrow.”

Ray also raised some eyebrows for her endorsement deal with Dunkin’ Donuts.

She admits the endorsement “wasn’t the greatest thing for my PR,” but says she respects the company’s attempt to make donuts healthier by removing trans fats.

“They came to me and they said, ‘We want to make healthier food for America. You drink a lot of coffee. You grew up on Dunkin’ Donuts. Have a cup of Dunkin’ Donuts on us,’” she says. “They gave their support and their money to [Ray's children's charity] Yum-o. They’ve been very supportive of me. I don’t regret a thing. Not for a minute.”

“I’m an all-things-in-moderation kind of person,” she continues. “I do eat a warm donut occasionally. I especially enjoy a cider donut when I’m apple picking. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”

And Rachel Ray says she doesn’t concern herself too much with the public’s criticism of her.

“If you spend so much time thinking about the people who dislike what it is you’re doing, you’re doing a disservice to the people that employ you,” she says. “I’m not employed by those people. I work for the people that want the type of food I write [about], the type of food we share with people.”

Ray says just about anyone could have done what she has done with her career.

“I absolutely 100 percent believe that,” she says. “I’m a waitress from upstate New York. Anyone that likes chatting, that likes to cook, certainly. Could have happened to anybody.”

Now Ray reportedly earns up to $18 million a year and says “it makes me a little sick.”

“It makes my stomach flip. I’m not comfortable with it … because I don’t like to think of my life as that far away from me,” she says. “People that make that kind of money — it’s just too foreign of an idea.”

Says Ray, “I’m not a chef. I haven’t created any new technique in the kitchen. I’m not a rocket scientist. I think I’m good at writing accessible, fun, and affordable meals for the average American family. That’s what I think I’m good at.”

Tears of Joy, Hurt, Betrayal- WTF !

Monday TV's Big Winner, Melissa!!!, er, No, Wait, Molly:

Muddle-headed Jason Mesnick led The Bachelor to its most watched season finale.

The numbers for The Bachelor: After the Final Rose, where the Mednick's mess got messier, were off the charts!

BASTARD !

For those of you watched last night, you may agree. I've loved Jason since I saw him on The Bachelorette, he had the "good guy vibe" and honestly he seemed to be the epitome of a man, I was devastated when Deanna broke his heart. My opinion of Jason was reinforced every episode this season....

However, my feelings for this guy have done a complete 180 (kind of like Jason’s feelings for Melissa.) if I could exggerate I would, I'm so MAD !

He is currently on my sh** list…along with every other girl's I know. And Molly took him back!!! WHAT ! ? After that! I guess it's good because I don’t know of any other girl on the planet that would date this tool after last night’s ‘After the Final Rose’ show.

1. I wish Molly would have been like F U you jerk, being the selfish idiot she is though she took him back, they were all lovey and kissy ! Come ON ! I couldn't stop screaming!!!

2. Molly, You idiot ! Why would you want to be 2nd Best !? He dumped you once, proposed to Melissa, and then decided oh shoot I still like the other one I sent home, I'll ask her out again, hahaha ! Seriously Girl ! Have some Courage ! He's an Ass !

3. Melissa was so dignified sitting there letting her heart continue to break, her reaction just proved to everyone how amazing she is, she proved over and over last night that she was the best person for him, both in the Finale and the After Show, so level headed and intelligent with her words and reactions. I was proud of her :) We all knew she was a great girl from the start, but the way she handled that topped the charts !

My heart goes out to Melissa, I love her. My heart was breaking just like hers :(

And PLEASE all of the crying he did was a little MUCH for me. It seemed as if he knew he made a bad choice when he let Molly go, those tears ! I mean, I like a sensitive guy, but dear GOD, get a f****** grip!!!!!!!!!

Come On….

Its not really about the fact that Jason ”changed his mind”….A fickle pickle as Jimmy Kimmel chose to word it. Every guy changes their mind, I mean their guys. In reality, every other Bachelor in history has had a change of heart (minus Trista and Ryan). I love love love them ! I mean I guess no one watches the show to get a fairytale ending, but it would have been nice to let us enjoy the happiness for more than a minute. Literally ABC ! Wow! I went from Beyond Excitement to Shear Devestation in like, yeah, a minute ! I understand people change their minds, Jason is no exception. But to agree to dump your fiance on NATIONAL TELEVISION??? WOW !

And no this is worse, He agreed to dump his fiancee on National Television for his Ex, who he was the one that sent her home ! WHAT !!!!!????

Jason has conquered a new low! I hope the money they paid him was worth it, he needs to hire a body guard or two, seriously, he is going to need one when he goes in public. Or maybe he could loan his portion of the earnings to Melissa for all the therapy she is going to need after this is over. Haha

Earmuffs Baby Ty (Virgin Ears)…

It is a good thing Ty can’t read, well I guess he might be able to, he's almost 4 right. Can you read when you're 4??? Hmm, it;s been a long time, I guess if he's advanced he could. Anyway assuming Ty can't read haha and he doesn’t know how to use the internet (which actually it is likely he may, it is 2009)……because there is plenty of hatred circling cyberspace, especially bloggyland, over his mean daddy. Let’ s just hope that he isn’t allowed to watch tv either. WOw, that sucks !

Molly, Baby ! What !?

I was reading BLog posts early this morning to see other feedback on last nights disaster, one comment said this:

“I am a Dallas native and have a mutual friend of Melissa’s. The call I got last night prior to the show was shocking…This is the scoop, yes Melissa knew what was going on. Who walks onto a set with no audience and doesn’t have some idea what’s going on…ie, her canned reaction to the situation. Melissa was paid a substantial amount of money by ABC for what I am about to tell you. Yes, Jason probably still thought about Molly due to the fact he slept with her during the show and now she is pregnant. That is one of the reason’s she kept saying she didn’t understand why he wasn’t willing to fight for them. She wanted to try to work through the “bomb” Molly dropped on their life, but “Mr. Goodguy” couldn’t do that. The feelings between his legs he feels for Molly will soon be gone when her hormones spin out of control and he loses the zazazing for her too. ”

Okay, for real? Molly is preggers? I told every ONE of my friends that they were doing it in that tent! Totally explains why Molly was like I just don't understand, WOW. As well as her stating, "In the beginning we were so physical, but I developed feelings so much more." Oh the twists and turns of this demented man. I hope the prego thing is just a rumor…or is this the 2nd twist of TOnight !!!!! WOW !

That sucks if that's the reason he can't be happy with Melissa, life can't be that drastically different away from cameras, certainly their chemistry couldn't have been that different, but it makes sense, In love with Melissa, but Preggers Molly occupies his mind and he should do the right thing and be with her, hmmmm.

We'll find out !

Congratulations ABC!

If your goal was to have everybody and their brother talking about the show…you have succeeded. But, I must admit, I think it is pretty sad and completely wrong that you did it at the expense of Melissa’s heart. Paying Jason to dump her on National TV was about as wrong as it gets. Just an fyi: you totally did not need to do that for ratings purposes. We would have all still watched next season without this dramatic ending.

The next Bachelorette…..

For a second there was a part of me that wondered if Melissa could possibly be the next Bachelorette. Her snide remarks (”your a bas***d”) and sheer facial expressions when Jason dumped her were priceless. Or maybe it was her ability to bust out sheep jokes at the drop of hat when she met Ty? Did anyone else notice that? I was like, man she is sharp with the jokes, but then I quickly came to the conclusion that that too was probably prompted by ABC. I can just hear them now. “Now Melissa, there is going to be a point where you are going to have to tell a sheep joke.” And then they give her the sheep joke script and tell her to stick in her back pocket. Either way, I would love to see her come back and be the next Bachelorette…but I am sure since her parents continue to be M.I.A., ABC would want nothing to do with it.

However I hope she says No ! I want the poor girl to find love in her own way :)

Jason would probably pull a Deanna! And come back to her and say I made a mistake, I want you back ! hah

Absolutely Delish ! I was watching Paula's Party last night and she made this, it looked so fabulous I had to try it, so I made it for dessert tonight and I will tell you, between 5 people, yeah only 5 !
the entire thing was gone in like 2 hours !
Really Try It, it's that good :)

Chocolate Bread Pudding

Recipe courtesy Paula Deen, 2007

Serves:
8 to 10 servings

Ingredients

* 1 loaf French or Italian bread, cut into cubes (about 15 cups)
* 3 cups milk
* 1/3 cup heavy cream
* 1/4 cup coffee flavored liqueur
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 cup packed light brown sugar
* 1/4 cup cocoa powder
* 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
* 2 teaspoons pure almond extract
* 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 6 eggs, lightly beaten
* 8 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
* Pecan Rum Flambe Sauce, recipe follows

Directions

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Lightly grease a 13 by 9-inch baking dish fill with bread cubes.

In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, cream, and liqueur. In another bowl, combine the granulated and brown sugars with the cocoa powder and mix well. Add the cocoa mixture to the milk mixture and whisk to combine.

In a medium bowl, add the vanilla extract, almond extract, and the cinnamon to the beaten eggs. Combine the egg mixture with the milk mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread cubes; let stand, stirring occasionally, for at least 20 minutes, or until the bread has absorbed most of the milk mixture. Bake the pudding for 1 hour, or until set; a cake tester inserted into the center of the pudding should come out clean.

Serve the pudding warm or cold, with Pecan Rum Flambe, dessert sauce.
Pecan Rum Flambe Sauce:

1 stick butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup dark rum

In a large skillet, melt the stick butter and add brown sugar, stir together. Add the pecans and cook until sugar has caramelized over medium-high heat. Turn off the stove and pour in the rum. Stand back and carefully light with a long lighter. Be careful; a flame will shoot up above the pan. As the alcohol cooks out, the flame will die down. Serve over chocolate bread pudding.

School is redic this semester, for one Stats=DEATH. Two, I have entirely too much homework in Advanced Graphics and Advertising adn Developmental Psych occupies my mind so my thinking in all other aspects of life are swayed. We Party Lots, Laugh More, and Sleep little to none, my life is completely depicted right now by the song I Love College by Asher Roth find him on youtube, great song. Also speaking of youtube, look up Kittens inspired by kittens, No I'll give you a link, here you go watch that ! It will make your day, I'm not kidding.
So yes back to school, nah nevermind thats enough on school.
We had our weekly homemade Sunday dinner and a movie this week, Miss Ashlee made a delish Chicken Asparagus Dish with white rice- out of this world! The week before I made a garlic ziti pasta bake with fabulous italian bread. About 5 of us like to start the week out with a homemmade meal, it feels good on Sundays to have warm yummy food and good friends to spend the night with. We never get any work done but oh, well. It's College haha.

And I have decided it is time for them to become one of the obsessed !
MMmmm and Sushi, for Valentines day, Prince Charming and I went to a place back home called Plum Garden, JApanese deliciosity ! OMG- they made it at our table, it was like a dinner show, extremely entertaining and so yummy !
We got lost ont eh way but it was an adventure. Memories everyday. :)

Hmmm so whats next, I love the song Hero by Akon, have you heard it. It's not the most politically correct song, but oh well. The language is a little explicit, but I love it ! Akon's voice is just mezmerizing to me.

With this award, I'm supposed to list 10 honest things about myself. So....

1. Paranoia is my middle name ! Figuratively

2. Ummmm I'm terrified of flying-which could be a huge issue seeing that I what to travel everywhere haha

3. I'm incredibly jumpy- which is directly correlated to my paranoia I assume haha- literally the tiniest things make me jump, even if I expect it haha

4. Post- Its- absolute obsession! Don't ask me how many packages I have I can't count that high.

5. Funny thing: Sophomore year in High School I began to collect Dum Dum wrappers, with the goal in mind of making rainbows out of them, like Mod Podging them onto the boots- I thought this was the coolest idea ever- needless to say never happened- but I have almost 3000 !!!!! I can't part with them hahah

6. Within the past few days one of my best friends was taken from me, he was a brother to me. I have never experienced so much pain. The feeling is still so surreal. But I know he's watching us, and he's happy where he is. "Nothing is fair in love, but love is what gave him his life, and love is what will get us through together."

7. I laugh entirely too much, wait there is no such thing haha- I've added about 12 years to my life :)

The Worlds greatest Loss

So today I wanna talk about love, not puppy love or even romantic love but love lost.
I lost one of my best friends yesterday morning, he was more than a friend he was a brother, not biologically but certainly in heart.

His name was Jacob, and he is an Angel.
He changed everyones life that he touched, he was incredible so full of life and love and fantastic things to offer the world !!! He put every person in this world before himself, and always will. To be so young and already be such an amazing person is something that is a rare find in this world. He lives Forever with us.

For the first time in life, I think I'm experiencing pain, I'm empty and I suddenly feel alone. Reminiscent on the past and the days I have spent with him. The things that we talked of, and the laughs we shared will be of my greatest memories.
Never to be forgotten.
Jacob was 16 years old, not old enough or nearly ready to leave this world.
Yet his life was taken from him, and he from all of us. I know that he is looking at us right now and I know that he is in the best place he can be.
It's hard not to be selfish and wish he was still with us, but it is important to stay strong for him, as this is what he would wish for.
But the pain fills our hearts, as does confusion and endless questions.

Nothing is fair in love, but remembering that love is what gave him his life is the important thing, and love is what will get us through all of this together.
I can't help but think how unfair it is that someone so young can be taken from the world. Jacob was someone that no one will ever forget- the world lost an amazing person, but God aquired an amazing angel.

"He'll stay with us as long as the wind blows, He'll always be in our hearts,
he didn't leave us alone, he has eternal life. His spirit is always within us.
And if the sun shines in the sky, and the rain should fill the air,
and a rainbow lights up your day. Know he is there"....
and we will always remember him as the Angel he is.
